I'm Joe Johnson a local United Methodist Pastor. Before I felt God calling me into the ministry I thought I was going to be a rap artist. For 8 years I did nothing with music until my wife introduced me to a group called "The Gospel Gansters" in 1998. It was an eye opening experience. I was amazed to see people using rap for the glory of God. That day I picked up paper and pen and I haven't put it down yet.

Story behind the song
This is the story of how I started started doing Christian Rap music. I use to write rap songs every day that were crude and had nothing to offer. God called me to be a pastor and I stopped writing rap music. Years later I heard a group called the Gospel Gangsters that were rapping for Christ. I remember listening to their CD over and over again in the store. It was an epiphany moment for me. That day I picked up paper and pen again and started rapping for Jesus.
