It wasn't too long ago that I would have woken up, grab a bowl of weed/
sat out on the front porch and smoked it out and just sat, looking up at the sky\
wondering what it was that I was going to be doing to get a little more money,
so that I could maintain the high\
Back then I was an evil scheming demon, who was mad at the world, and I was addicted to my own self destruction.
I was on a dark path, a dark road that I had chosen/
nobody could walk along it with me,
I shut everybody out, and I was only looking for a reason to fry my mind.
I was candy flipping every drug that I could get my hands on doing whatever I could to help myself get closer to the end. By the end, I mean the End.
It was like looking into the mirror, seeing who it was that you could be but never being able to attain who it was that you needed to be.

Man, it's not easy to change the things that you have been doing/
even though they are destructive, still a routine, still a comfort to be doing the same thing.
All of my life I have been the one who's been way too analytical to the 3rd degree.
Looking at every facet of every situation every single day begins to take a toll, regardless of your schooling.
The reason that I tell you all this, is that this is the start to the journey that I undertook,
to find the hidden meaning, to find my reason for living.
What I found out is that Life is the reason for Life.
Look out at the sunset and tell me that you can't understand the simple beauty that you're witnessing, that the world is giving.
This is the reason that I have been living the way that I have been,
though I didn't know it then, I know it now.
Everything that I've been searching for was right in front of me, just waiting to be seen.
Not for nothing, but all the imprints that we leave echo along the roads that we mean to see.
